Please pardon me for my ignorance but why is that every admin fix will work with money in this country?
Does this mean we have to pay money to fix something in the system that will be useful to this country (eg: Senetors take the money and introduce the bills. Do you guys think it is equvalent to Bribe in other countries?)
I could recall that July '07 fiasco has been fixed without we donate anything.

When was the last "normal" economic cycle when so many big banks failed...
Lehman Brothers were 150 years old bank meaning they say great depression and the world wars and survived all of that.. This time it disappeared one morning.
Citi, BofA,Wells etc are all in trouble..

So there you have it - no vote on the bill today...
I don't get it guys - what's up with this country - is this really what it's come down? Give me your tired, your poor - but DEFINITELY don't give me your talented, your educated and your promising. Because really - what are we going to do with people who actually pay taxes, contribute to the community and help bring prosperity.
We would love to have just your best cotton-pickers...this is just a little disappointing - and yet I ask, what should we do now? We have 2 months to go - it's time to make a HUGE difference...

I think you don't understand. USCIS has no control over the Visa bulletin. The reason India EB3 is doomed because of the percountry limitations set by DOS.
Congress need to change that rule not USCIS.

First of all Nixstor everybody here really appreciates your contributions and support for the community. However, we have to remember that when there is a need people will act. You did no harm by making this very important point. Ofcourse the site might not be converted to a paid one, but your post really brought out certain very important points to light and we really appreciate that. You are right there are many who benefit without contributing. But we have to remember that any efforts similar to this (IV) will cosist of a huge population. Out of that there will always be a percentage who will never contribute and some selfless people like yourself who always take the extra step to help others and in turn recieve help. If this site becomes paid many might simply cut of their visits. And I wont argue with you if you say that aint true. Personally I feel we might loose a lot of the memberships if that happens. Regarding the present fight against the uscis, I dont even think we are in need of that big a sum because the AILF is taking up the case free of cost (correct me if I am wrong). You may / may not contribute. They are already decided and they will fight. Now the drive for the future CIR if any, will go on slowly and can be increased as need arises. More than money what we need now is people sending out information to the media / politicians. Money comes last now, as far as I know.
Money never, never comes last, IMHO. Money does have its place right beside grass root efforts. Any one who undermines either of them at any time is making a huge mistake.

As most of you know, Sen. Grassley has of late been advocating bills against the immigrant community. According to wikipedia, his approval rating is at 50% last year. He is up for re-election this year and his Democratic opponent is quite strong. If the Tea Party can help Republicans, so can we help the democratic candidate.

I have a friend who despite eligible for eb2, his employer filed in eb3 without his knowledge. He only came to know about this after 3 years after his labor got approved and got I-140 approved. The employer didn't provide him any papers for labor cert but somehow he got hold of his I-140 notice approval. He changed his job now and filed eb2 with new employer. I see no reason why he should not do interfile.
You are frustrated because of retrogression. Why don't you curse others, not those little less fortunate, from so called retrogressed countries? I have seen people in my organization coming from ROW countries and getting complete GC in less than 15 months. You should really get frustrated with country quota, not with your fellow sufferers.

Usually they ask for only copies of all the docs and not the originals.And they may ask to show the original copies of the birth,marriage etc,wedding pics,family pics etc at the time of interviews.

Sri, I appreciate your enthusiasm and spirits. in my view, unless something comes from the IV core ..nothing will happen. people in this forum are too diverse and independent and hence they need strong leadership. and for some reason (we can only speculate),, all that we have from the core is silence
I partially agree with both you and Sri - while it is true that I have not (recently) written to the lawmakers, and more often than not I vent my frustration here - especially each time the visa bulletin appears and then tend to go on with my life, I have in the past written, telephoned, faxed to lawmakers. Over the past 2 years I have seen bills come and go. I am at a stage now where I have almost resigned to the fact that maybe there is not much that we can do - especially given the low level of participation from members here at IV.
I also feel that it is time younger members (freshers blood) takes on leadership roles here. IV is a forum which provides the opportunity for enthusiastic people to just go ahead and organize any drive they feel will work. IV leadership will not object, as long as the drive is tasteful and is within all parameters of decency.
As for older and tired people like us.... we will gladly follow the leaders and assist in any way possible.

Should it be the old(one I originally got) one or get one from the employer saying I am currently employed as permanent for the same salary as in I140?
Do I have to send the W2 from last year?
Do I have to send 2 pay stubs from this year?

Finally after 6 years, its my turn to report. Online is NOT updated but when I called NSC they informed that it was approved on 05/23/2008. They also informed me that it will take 6 business days to get the card(card ordered on 05/23/2008).

Dont want to be passimistic or discourage anyone; I have always been optimistic and will remain so...
However, this suggests that there will not be any fall down (previously called spillover) from EB4 and may not even be much from EB5 (Last year this was the major factor that gave 10k additional numbers to EB2 India). Lookes like people are finding alternate ways (who can) by these routes.
EB1 used up all its numbers last year and we dont know what will happen this year.
EB2 ROW usage looks low, but then again no movement in EB2 India...
