Bibliographer (http://www.stanford.edu/~tristanh/bibliographer.html) --this is the best tool for doing Bibliographies. I use it a lot. Very customizable, very easy to learn and use, and runs on anything from OS 8 to OS X to System 7.5.3.

Every student should have this software... :)

I'd recommend looking at the following:
    http://vandelaydesign.com/blog/marketing/12-realities-of-pricing-web-design-services/
    http://www.linkedin.com

    http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/07/14/quality-price-ratio-in-web-design-pricing-design-work/

It's hard to comment on how to actually charge your service because I am not in the US, but take a look at similar businesses and how they charge use this as a guide. Also gauge the project on how much the client is prepared to pay, it might be a cheap but open the door to many other good clients or it could be an expensive one off with little benefit for you.

Hi. Thanks for the links. I can't believe all the good info I've been getting here. I've been copying and pasting all the links and bits of advice so I will have them to refer to again whenever the need arises. :)

    Hey!

Just want to share my first remix that I have ever posted online! (My other NIN one was posted on my website, but that gets like a total of 1 view every year so that doesn't count)
If you could give me opinions I would really appreciate it.

You already have a few members in this thread who said they're not eligible.

    Hey,

For this upcoming Mother's Day I'd like to present her with a family photo, but overloaded with silly effects. Think clown nose, devil horns, and moustaches.

Does anybody know of a good, free (or demo) app that can do this? I don't necessarily need those specific effects. Sorry for the short notice.

    Thanks!

PS. If nobody knows then I know of a couple iPhone apps that might be able to accomplish this, but I'd rather use my Mac.

Now you made me doubt myself, gonna go check the bluray. :)

And about Button, ah so I suppose the extra 50 mil makes you go AMC. :)

Edit: Checked the blu ray, I stand corrected they are using Avid. When I saw the Apple keyboards and Apple Cinema displays with OS X background all over the place, I must have automatically assumed it was FCP. Why would they use macs for AMC though?

The first Avid came out in 1989 on a Mac IIx. Most people up until a couple of years ago where still editing with Avid Xpress/Film Composer on Power Macintosh 9600's and G3/G4 machines because they cut and cut really well. You used to not be able to separate the word Apple from Avid until they started being bad about working with other developers over the span of OS X. I.E. Avid, Adobe & Macromedia. And developing competing products. You've seen what Steve can do with a product like flash and ban it from an OS. So Adobe and Avid started not putting all their eggs in one basket and that's why you started seeing alot of software on apple's migrate to PC's because of Apple's behavior for better or worse.

I still love cutting on a MAC though I started a young poor PC guy that couldn't afford a G4 tower and cinema display.

    Really amazing shot!

Thanks. I am proud of that picture. Not only was I lucky enough to get the timing right for a home run photo, I was lucky enough to witness and capture history with his 100th career home run. :)

A business suit can make a potential assailant believe you are ripe for the picking, just as "being dressed like a prostitute" (whatever that means) could do. The comparison is apropos.

So why are we so quick to condemn one, yet excuse at any cost the other? Bit of a double standard there.

Yes you do lose rollover minutes when changing from one rate plan to another if yo have more rolloever than what is included in the new rate plan.

You can use this FAQ and the chart shows all the details.

    http://www.wireless.att.com/answer-center/main.jsp?t=solutionTab&ft=searchTab&ps=solutionPanels&locale=en_US&_dyncharset=UTF-8&solutionId=52371&isSrch=Yes

You change plans and the accumulated Rollover Minutes in your existing plan exceed the number of Anytime minutes in your new plan

Remind us all why murder is a crime in the first place?

Because an innocent person is being killed (usually). Yes i know it has happened in the past with the death penalty, which is why i only support the death penalty in cases where there is no possible chance of innocence.

It's impossible to be 100% certain is a crap response, because in many cases it is 100% certain, and i've named a few already.

That is false. Even lawyers agree that 100% certainty is impossible. That is why we have the term "reasonable doubt". The 5 men wrongly sentenced to death in Ohio went through what was supposed to be an exceptionally thorough legal process, yet it still failed them.

Also, the whole financial issue is very debatable and i don't think anyone here has solid figures on it.

    An unconvincing statement. Prove it.

The only reason it may cost more to execute someone is because of all the appeals and court costs, this can easily be fixed so execution is the most economical way.

Stalin, Gaddafi and Kim Jong Il would agree. You're in good company there.

I'm not going any further into this because my stance that some people are unworthy of life won't change. Peace out girl scout.

Don't labor under the illusion that I or anyone else cares what you think. Frankly I do not. You've added nothing to this discussion but emotional responses and baiting, after which you've abandoned what is clearly a lost cause. I think that speaks for itself.

I have a bad problem I can't seem to fix (for almost a year now). Thanks to Outlook, somehow a duplicate mailbox was created on the server for the admin user (me: gary). When mail is sent to gary@aspenridge.ca it is possible for it to end up in either of the two mailboxes in /var/spool/dovecot/mail. I manually (as root) deleted one of the mailboxes last year but every once in a while, the duplicate mailbox re-appears. Now, I should clarify that the mailbox is unique (has a unique name), however the owner is still listed as 'gary' twice. Here's the output of the directory:

    aspenridge:mail gary$ ls -l
    total 0
    drwx------ 21 melody mail 714 Dec 26 23:05 19368C01-774D-42B6-B753-8621DD72251F/
    drwx------ 17 enrique mail 578 Jan 20 14:21 2CFD6ABD-CABC-44C8-BA1A-82AB8CFF2AB4/
    drwx------ 13 gary mail 442 Jan 20 14:39 7CF2BDA1-2890-4DA9-9953-41C3425FDF13/
    drwx------ 17 nelly mail 578 Jan 20 13:08 BDA2D0D9-D21F-40FE-8C9E-DD868C750B1C/
    drwx------ 22 gferrer mail 748 Jan 20 14:31 D1D3FF6F-CE36-4682-A31A-F1B7A0E62DF8/
    drwx------ 11 tom mail 374 May 10 2010 E73B7452-101B-4ED5-B8C7-A9E7828288AE/
    drwx------ 9 com.apple.calendarserver mail 306 Nov 22 2009 E7E8C925-5BDA-40B4-A6E1-0806C22F55D4/
    drwx------ 16 gary mail 544 Jan 8 14:16 EDE561D8-F6F8-4C1F-A54B-210E5D60CD75/

As you can see, mailbox owned by 'gary' is there twice and this is a problem. I tried deleting the 'gary' user but the system won't allow me to (I think it's because it's the admin user originally created when setting up the system). Because I can't reliably receive mail as gary@aspenridge.ca, I had to create another user 'gferrer' instead and set 'gary' to forward mail to gferrer@aspenridge.ca in WM.

Any ideas what I can do here to fix the problem?

    Thanks.

i don't want to ruin everyones excitement, but straight from iLounge (http://www.ilounge.com) - New iPod shuffle arrives; old earphones, weak clip? (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/news/comments/new-ipod-shuffle-arrives-old-earphones-weak-clip/8907) :( :( :(
I really hope the weak clip issue is just because it is a shuffle from an early batch. Would anyone who already has a new shuffle like to comment on this?

    Practically speaking...

If they limit the number of iPods you can transfer the movies onto, how are they going to differentiate between an additional iPod and one you replaced for a newer one? What I mean is, if they would only allow for a transfer to 5 iPods, and let's say you have 5 and one breaks, or eventually you replace them all for newly released ones, how will they be able to differentiate that from an "additional 6th iPod"?

They entire scheme is flawed. Practically speaking.

    irmongoose

Uh, maybe they'd do it the same way they enforce the "5 computers" rule? You would authorize your 5 iPods and if one breaks you would tell iTunes to forget about all iPods and then re-link your current 5 iPods to the system.

I think they SHOULD do this but it should be a high number like 15 or 20 iPods. A user would NEVER run into that limit but it would prevent someone from buying a movie and selling it to hundreds of people for a few bucks each and copying it onto their iPods.

A number like that would stop the big-time offenders without the average consumer ever noticing.

(Based on this theory, the current "5-computer" rule is a bit too tight. It really should be 10 computers.)

EDIT: I also thought of something Apple could steal from the Zune. The "iPod movie limit" COULD be limited to 5 iPods if thre was a "share" feature that worked like the Zune's wireless sharing. That is, it's encrypted to expire in 3 days. So, I could authorize 5 of my own iPods to always have the movie but I could ALSO choose to put it on my friend's iPod but his would only work for 3 days. Then, just like the Zune it would ask him if he wants to buy it.

This would be the equivilant of "loaning a DVD." It works out as free advertising in the end...SOME of those friends will end up buying the movie.

The key to making it work is to make this "sharing" feature an OPTIONAL addition to the way I copy my movies around from my own iPods. The experiation feature would only come into play when I copy films PAST my 5-iPod limit, so it would never affect me personally.

Lets say his girlfriends parents say it's ok for them to sleep in the same room. Also, lets say that you also know that your son is having sex. Lets also say that your son has been going out with this girl for 3 months. So would you let him or not?
