You didn't mention how you got paid. Cash? Check? Did you get a 1099? Did you file taxes? Does the IRS have a record of your earnings?
I received online payments via Paypal for buying/selling side of my business.
I have also received 1099's for the webdesign services I provided.
All in all, my combined income has been <$5K each year.
I have not yet filed my tax returns, but I did file sales tax with the State. My tax papers are ready just so you know, but I'm not certain whether I should file them, especially with such a low income.

your case is different than others on this thread. while other have expiring passport yours is a mistake by USCIS.

I have the exact same scenario :(
i don't think anyone would be able to use first EAD filed during July/Aug time frame as I-140 itself will take more than 1 yr.. or longer who knows...money wasted on EAD.

I applied for H1 extension in June'07. I got RFE on I94 first & then one more on my consulting company. Both were responded on time.. Finally, I got a denial notice on my H1 recently stating that my education background is not Computer Science related although i hold a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. Am very upset after hearing this.
I have few questions for the experts here.
1. Is it possible for me now to apply for new H1 thru some other company?
2. Can i re-appeal the decision and stay here legally?
3. Are there any good attorneys that can give me good advice for me to take the next step?

I think, too many documents not required. The US Embassy in Delhi asks for:

-- An Affidavit of Support, I-134 Form from your sponsor (a close relative), and also their bank statements and employment letter
-- A copy of the passport of your sponsor in the U.S. Preferably, a copy of the relative's Indian passport, if possible
-- Documents to show the sponsor's legal status in the U.S.

Hello all,
Could someone who are recently travelled via London Heathrow, please let me know what all should be done in order to obtain the DATV visa?
My flight stops there for under 2 hours (for cleaning and refuelling), and I was told I need to get the DATV since my visa expired and my approved AP alone is not enough.
Though I have gone through the required websites, i would still appreciate info from any one who recently experienced getting the DATV and travelling via London. Do I need to send I-485 receipt notice original and EAD as well?
Or is it enought to send the online application, passport, photo and AP originals?
Is there anyway to do everything in person, including handing over documents?
Also, it would be great if you could let me know how long it took to get the visa and your documents back!
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

As I see it, the 7% cap is nothing but a clear case of affirmative action on a global scale. Republicans would definitely support removing this cap if the debate was framed in this angle rather than to give relief to any particular country. Relief is to the business's in the US - the freedom for them to hire the best in the world not to forced in to affirmative action due to quotas in high skilled immigration.

I know that with H1-B, one is not supposed to run his/her own business. But how about with EAD?
Yes, you can run a business on EAD.
You can own a business on H1-B too. But you cannot work for it . You can invest and have someone manage the operation for you. you can take profits but not work as an employee.
