Also mention the points mentioned here by myself and Walden Pond. These are the apprehensions that many desis and chinese H1Bs have about raising their voice.
There is nothing unethical or illegal going on in here. Please use these talking points to clear any fears or apprehensions that newcomers have about participating in something so basic and 100% legal and moral.
Remember, we have a moral high ground when compared to illegals. And even illegals are not afraid as much as some of us are initially when thinking about volunteering or contributing. WE ARE LEGALS.
And also remember one thing...silent observation from your cubicle is not going to help. DO NOT THINK for one second that silence is going to be rewarded. With silence, nothing will happen. Situation might worsen. By raising your voice there may be benefit but it might not hurt you. STAND UP. Raise your head about your CUBICLE and SPEAK UP. Speak with either with your keystrokes on the forums or with your wallet. Silence is NOT GOLDEN here and frankly...its in a democracy and on matters of public policy SILENCE SUCKS.

I moved last week but told my roommate to accept this mail that I was expecting from Immigration.
I guess she removed my name from the mail box.
Today I went online to check the status on my EAD and the status says the card we returned as undelivered and they asked me to call customer service to update address.
I'm planning to go online and get my address changed .
Should I also call them to inform about the address change?
Is there any other way I can get my EAD card rather than wait till I update my address?
Can I change my address over the weekend? If I have to call them after changing the address online will the customer service be available over the weekend ?

Company A - EB3 � PD Nov 2004.
Company B - EB2 � PD Feb 2007.
In July-2007 I applied 485 Using Company A EB3. In Apr-2008 I moved to Company B and In Feb 2009 my attorney sent an interfiling request to change the category on my EB3 case to EB2.
My attorney also told that, in general this kind of update look complex to the USCIS people and ignore the request.
If that happens then the next thing is to let our senator or congress man call to USCIS and request them to show more attention on that interfiling request. And you should do this after 3 months after sending the interfiling request.
One question, did you received the same alien number on both the I-140s or not? In my case my alien numbers are also different.
Also as of today I did not know whether my interfiling is success or not. The only way I will know about it is by calling the service center, which I haven�t done yet.
My attorney has confidence that we can get the category changed.
Also as mmrao2007 specified, my attorniey also sent the documents with a covering letter with a colored paper and big bold letters on top, explaining the case and related case numbers.

I have a valid H-1B valid till 18th feb 2011 for employment with my previous employer. I had changed employment and now have I797C for the new employer valid till Nov 2011. I plan to go to India and be back in 1 week, my employer would issue me a leave approval letter. My present employer is a big hospital-non profit and I am a health professional.
Can some one tell if would need to get a new visa stamped if I come back by 15th January 2011. What documents should I carry. Should I talk to a lawyer before I leave. My mom is stable now but I am afraid If dont go now, I might not be able to gor a long time as I dont want to get re-stamping done.
Please advice
You do NOT need a new VISA stamp as long as you have a valid/unexpired VISA stamp from your previous employer. However, you should carry the original H1 approval along with recent paystubs and make sure to tell the officer that you have changed employers and show the IO the new approved I797C before he stamps and gives you the new I-94. If you do not show the approved I797C from the current employer, then you will be treated as working illegally for your new/current employer because the IO will issue you an I-94 with Old employer information filled in the system. Your new I-94 should be valid till the validity of your new I797C.

Try Wells Fargo or Chase. They have been quite good about lending me money for a couple of rental properties.
Also ask them for rebates as they are eager to get business.
Another one I came across was Penfed.org. They may work for you since you seem to be borrowing for a primary residence.

Since your I-94s are already expired, I would advise to talk to your attorney asap and follow his advise....Do not rely on a forum to get suggestions on a time sensitive situation...

Hi,
Assuming that one has file for the I-485 - just wanted to clarify that EAD/AP can be filed even if the priority dates are not current. In other words, EAD/AP has no dependency on the priority date being current.

However i also want to know when i plan to move from B to C in future, Although C will file a new H1-B petition, can this petition be filed any time during the year? And if approved can i start to work immediately without a gap?

i'm finding that jobs are limited, that too for H1 b, responses back are very rare, for me at least.
