Not probabaly but 100 % confirmed that i have never been a donor.
So that means you know nothing about how IV works, no point in arguing about something you don't know anything about. You can rather spend time on figuring how cows fly.
Its quite strange and selfish that you couldn't even think of sparing $25 for an organization working for immigrants in 4 years. Many of our senior members are in EB3.
Now my questions is why do big companies in USA donate to any party. They do that because they believe that when that party come to power the goverment will be positive towards that specific business.

I have mine sent on 05/06 and receipt notice date on 5/12, routed to NSC. checks encashed after that no update. One soft LUD on 06/07.
Anyone with the above dates and NSC provide me with their updates.

AFAIK they dont issue Interim EAD's any more.
I think this practise was stopped in 2007.

I still have 55 or so days till my current EAD expires but I am very concerned now that I will have to stop working on Sep 30. My current employer is a large public school system and I do not think they will allow me to start working on august 25th without new EAD. I am going crazy here... already signed a new contract but dont know what to do...:eek::eek:

I don't think their inqriry was initiated as my GC came very next day. I always tried to contact the 2 nd level IO by asking that I would like to confirm my Home address or my Alien number on I 140 and I 485 does not match. Just an ecuse to get to Level 2 IO instead of first level IO's who read what we see online as if we are illiterates

I and manish flew monday morning sept 17th on a short notice to attend 11:30AM appointment and then again at 3:30 PM with nagaraj.
We had 2 more appointments on 18th with NH senators.
All the meetings were great and one them exceeded 30 minute schedule to 50 minutes.
It was great to meet all the members like aman, jay, paskal, kanika, meenal, nagaraj, pappu, gopal etc.
Paskal: Where is my beer?
Gopal: "Don't shoot the messenger" in the situation room.
jay: Speech pointing fingure to capitol hill behind him. "We are here on offence".
Mike: Step1 to step 5 entertainment
These are some, but not all, of the memorable things in DC.
I really had to mention pappu seperately.
He is a dedicated person to this cause and needs special mention. I really enjoyed his company in the bus on our return journey to NH. We shooted all possible questions and got convincing answers.
Thanks again for the wonderful experience.

Alright guys, I cannot tell you how excited I am to report that i got a call this morning from my attorney and my online case status also states that Card Production was ordered for my case!!!
After 8 long years.....i finally have been approved for permanent residency. After 7 years, i will finally, with peace of mind, go back to India to visit my family. Thanks to IV, everyone's help on these forums for helping me keep my sanity over the past 2 years....
After 15 years in the US, I will finally have my green card in hand soon.

Someone from the immigrant community should have a seat a the board level in USCIS. We are the primary stake holders in this system, yet we have to resort to public demonstrations to get a point across to them. Is it me or is there something wrong in this??
AILA represents their interests and they get regular meetings. Often ours are the same. Sometimes not.
I'm sure the business community goes golfing with them on weekends.
We need a seat at the table. Not just for the issues raised but for all the future ones too.

Mr. Nathan I have a great deal of respect for you and all those who have committed themselves to driving IV and all activities it is doing. But what you understood from my post is entirely wrong, and I have to explain why, because if this is the misconception you are having, not about me in particular but everyone who is not involved, then it definitely needs answers.
As I already clarified, I had stopped worrying about GC, long time ago, not after getting EAD.
I bought a house when I didn't even start my current GC process.
I went to India (Chennai) in my 7th year for H1 extension stamping (after completing 6 yrs of H1 and before I even filed 485). I didn't postpone it till I got EAD.
I left my employer who had filed for my labor in 2004 because he started acting up at the end of my project and started GC process with new employer well into my 6th year.
I do understand some people run to IV only in time of need. But all I am saying is not to paint everyone with same brush. Even if you think about people who want anything to do with IV only when there is need, lets try winning them over rather than stating the obvious and ridiculing them.

So far people kept thinking , once EB3 is past September 2001(big hump due to clinton amnesty), it should race forard because of not many filing ins 2001 down turn. Once the list is available we can atleast have some idea on how many are infact waiting and that would probably help most people have realistic estimate on when they may get their turn.
There were enough people who wanted that clarity and they contributed to get that. Still the FOIA request, if it goes through the regualr channel, it will be 2 years before USCIS even addresses it. CORE is trying an alternate approach to see if that data can be obtained ASAP.

I think current mad rush is because of following reasons.
1) Atlease 35K new H1s filed because of H4-H1 conversions. This is because of retrogression and H4s waited longtime to work and so they are desparate to work. We can eliminate this if we have I-485 filing provision without visa number availability provision of STRIVE act. These people deserve it until there no solutuon to Retrogression.
2) 70K visas are filed by Offshoring/Outsouring firms firms. This is where the actual problem is. They won't send all of them whom they file. They will unnecessarily waste all these H1s after getting approvals. I know so many visas are wasted by Satyem, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Accenture and all other offershoring/outsourcing firms every year.
3) 15K-20K by US educated students. These are deserved to file.
4) 10K - New H1s for real projects needed by clients. These are also deserve to file for H1.
So, here the problem is Offshoring/Outsourcing firms who are abusing the law by filing and not sending all of them. I can definitely say 85% visas filed by these firms every year are wasted and they won't send all these employees whom they file. They are using this H1 as seat reservation in a bus/train. They only send very few and waste so many visas every year. In all these firms, i know so many employees are having H1 stamped and waiting to come here. But those companies selects very few and send them here. If at all we need any reform in H1B, then it is here by not allowing H1s from these Offshoring/Outsourcing firms. Then everybody will be happy. These firms can use only L1 for their company needs so that H1 won't be abused.
Also, first point, we can solve by passing the curent version of STRIVE.
So, we need to oppose this new H1B reform and make to sure that Congress passes STRIVE act provisions.

my name was not interview with my family.
my family gave interview and embassy asked for original I140 and I824 approval notices to check my eligibility.
i submitted and now after 2 weaks got the follwing reply:
In your case , the I-140 was filed on sept 10, 2001 and approved on october 08, 2003. The visa became available on october 08, 2003 . Form I-824 was not filed within one year of visa became available. <my name> was born on January 03, 1986. because he (me) is above 21 years old an immigrant visa as a derivative beneficiary of Employment third prefrence (e3) immigrant visa category cannot be inssued to <my name>. In order to qualify for a visa, he (me) would need to benifit from CSPA. Since form I-824 was not filed within one year of visa becoming available on October 08, 2003.
<my name> cannot be processed under CSPA.
SO plz help me with right advice and solution so that i can travel with my family.
my mom and bro got te visa and it will expire in 6 monts and i want to go with them, can i be able to get visa in any case before their visa expire?
i badly need help.

Then once the steam goes off this issue send this 65% to some infinite coldstorage/blackbox like BPC... May be this time the BPC will be created in deserts of Arizona or Mountains of Colorado.
They are planning "Damage Control" for sure ...

Have your medical appointments completed. Medical appointments can back up quite quickly. Therefore we urge people to complete their medicals.
Send in your documents to HLG. HLG�s I-485 Step By Step Guide has a list of documents that we need for all I-485 filing. HLG will not begin preparing the I-485 at this time, but we still recommend that you send us all of the items on the list.

The first step you should get your employer to do is to file a job order in the state job bank or americas job bank. You have to keep this ad for 30 days and then wait another 30 days to file PERM. This is the longest time. All other forms of recruitment needs to wait only 30 days and you can file PERM on the 31st day. There is no mention of working days or weekends, it is 30 continuous days. As you know in addition to this job bank order, and two Sunday newspaper ads, there has to be three other forms of recruitment before you can file PERM. If your employer and lawyer are really proactive it will only take 60 days to file PERM from start to finish. You also have to get a prevailing wage determination and post it at your job site for 10 days not including holidays and weekends. Hope this helps. Please contribute and incrase the membership of IV for the good of all of us.

Also I will direct the folks struck in chicago to you, they can hire you if they want you to represent them or I will ask them how do they want to proceed.

As for putting names and case numbers, without that information, they won�t take the letter seriously. Also, I think that this will get the DOL to move on those cases. Almost every time I have made a specific complaint, they have responded by resolving the case right away in order to make the whole thing go away. It wouldn�t surprise me to see the same thing here.
